This is concept art for a post card invitation for the "Off the Page" graphic design show at Mt. Mary University. 

 

The five artists participating in this show have very distinct styles, but are all driven by a passion for graphic design.  Our approach to solving problems varies, but it is our love of design that fuels the inspiration for this show.  “Off the Page” is a representation of how our individual styles have resulted in an impressive body of work.  My design is split in the diagonal, with some elements sliding off the page demonstrating the duality of the individual versus the group.  Additionally, the contrasting color scheme encompasses opposing ends of the color spectrum, but ultimately enhances the layout, creating a harmonious design.  Lastly, by overlaying an abrasive texture, the final image becomes a perfect combination of elegant sophistication juxtaposed against a gritty edginess that captures the artists’ visual styles.
